The Power Of Female Rage

19 Jan

As some of you may know, my posting access to my GenderTrender blog was suspended at the end of the business day on Friday January 18. My last post, on Friday morning, was a collection of screen caps: a random sampling of the abusive and threatening tweets directed at Suzanne Moore following her “SEEING RED: THE POWER OF FEMALE ANGER” article re-publication.

Prior to Friday morning’s post I did five controversial posts in succession:

1.) I outed an MD and Phd who threatened to murder a bunch of radical feminists, also specifically targeting myself and Cathy Brennan. 1/10/2013 FRI

2.) I posted the text of Professor Sheila Jeffeys’ submission to the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Bill 1/12/2013 SUN

3.) I posted the entire text (and published imagery) of Julie Burchill’s “Transsexuals Should Cut it Out”, which was subsequently censored in toto by the Guardian/Observer and for which she is now facing a government criminal inquiry. 1/13/2013 MON

4.) I posted commentary and photos and a partial re-blog of Dirt’s article calling out the racism and homophobia at the core of the initial trans response to Suzanne Moore’s use of the term “Brazillian transsexual” in her “SEEING RED: THE POWER OF FEMALE RAGE” article. 1/16/2013 THURS

5.) I posted a video of Precious “Jewel” Davis, a (self-professed) gay drag queen who recently “turned trans” from the “We Happy Trans” project . 1/16/2013 THURS

What a week!

My blog is “newsy”. When things are going on, I post them. And there is a lot going on right now. Specifically, there is a peak of public discourse around the feminist critique of gender. We have about a week before the general public becomes bored with this topic (as they do with all topics). Right now, this discourse is peaking- into the mainstream- in a way I’m not sure it has ever done before. This is a critical time.

Some of you have taken issue with the language Julie Burchill used in her now criminalized article and claim her bombastic tone has undermined the message. As if there was EVER a platform for that “message”. Suzanne Moore wasn’t “bombastic” and look what the fuck happened to her! Some of you have actively taken steps to discredit Burchill or distance yourself from her. Must step lightly, you say. Throw her off the boat! Backstabbing is a pointless discussion to have at this point. Clearly the trans politic is seizing the moment to re-frame their violent suppression of feminist – of WOMENS and LESBIAN voices- as an anguished “what about the menzzzz” cry to promote further censorship and no-platforming of feminist gender critiques, but remember, that is the same tact they use whether you are rude or polite. The polite Conway Hall feminist conference was no-platformed by the MRA/Trans alliance with terrorist bombing and murder threats. Mainstream feminist discourse has been taken over by males in an “oh so polite” way- backed up by threats of rape and death. Feminists who have tried to discourse with the trans politic have been- at best- mocked and distained. Whether you give an inch or a mile. Burchill simply chose to take on the abuse in stead of her friend Suzanne Moore. Julie is not a stupid woman. She has lanced a boil. That boil is the silencing of feminist voices by the transgender lobby. Whether that wound heals or encapsulates will be determined by our response. She has directed attention to this issue by throwing herself on a pyre into the angry mob. Immolation. That Burchill broad kicks some balls and goes down swinging. And where the fuck are you?

Let’s not waste this opportunity, shall we? We have the world’s attention. LET US SPEAK.

Unfortunately for me at GenderTrender, my voice has been silenced now by my website host at

Yesterday Janet Mock of People Magazine, (he of “Girls Like Us” fame), decided to start a campaign against my blog. Early Friday morning (before my Suzanne Moore Tweet post) I became aware of a censorship campaign against GenderTrender, and all wordpress radical feminist blogs. There have been a million of these campaigns, but Mock is a very powerful man.

Mock initially became enraged when he read my post (Number 4 above) and saw a photo of himself, and “misgendering” (because it mentioned that he was male) and decided that women have no right to discuss or post photos of public figures on feminist blogs.  Instead of filing a complaint with wordpress or messaging me with his demands (or just shutting the fuck up) he started a twitter campaign to ban my blog which was quickly seized by trans activists smelling blood in the water following their successful censorship of Burchill and success in driving Suzanne Moore off of twitter. All the usual suspects came on board within minutes: Hetero female “fag” Stephen Ira, Lefty “TGirl” inventor of the ladystick Savanna Garmon, Transfeminist Natalie “Die cis scum” Reed and all the rest. NO DISCUSSION of TRANS ACTIVISM by WOMEN they railed. GAG THESE BITCHES.

This is the picture Janet Mock complained about

This is the picture Gay Male Janet Mock complained about

When I did not notice Mock’s campaign (because I never check my tweets and I was sleeping) he engaged his pals to post news articles complaining about’s hosting of gender critical and trans-critical blogs. The proposed banning of all female voices re: politics relating to gender, especially mine. I took action when I became aware of Mock’s campaign, specifically his charge that the public news-site photo I had used was off limits. To placate his male rage I replaced that pic with an alternate screen cap from another (NBC) appearance, and I kindly tweeted him that I had resolved his photo issue.  Seriously, these guys literally think they can lobby on the national news and women have no right to discuss it. HOW DARE IT SPEAK???

I posted a few of the Suzanne Moore tweets, went to work, and when I came home my blog had TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND hits. And I was LOCKED OUT by

I now have NO WAY to POST on MY OWN BLOG due to It’s all well and good for feminists to have blogs and such that are gender critical, as long as no one is paying attention to them. You can post the most intelligent, elegant legal critique of the ways “Gender Identity” status negatively impacts woman AS LONG AS NO ONE READS IT. AS LONG AS NO ONE IS LISTENING. Women can have their tiny corners, their sekret cabals AS LONG AS NO ONE IS READING. Let the gals blow off steam in dark corners on Facebook. As long as it doesn’t hit the mainstream. Let the edumacated upper class folks have their little talks that no one finds interesting or engaging. But god forbid feminist voices start being heard en masse. God Forbid Julie Burchill says what EVERY FUCKING WOMAN ON EARTH IS THINKING. GOD FORBID Trans Media Watch cites GenderTrender as a SOURCE in the women vs. gender discourse.

Someone said this as a comment on my blog recently, much better than I’m about to mis-quote, but it was basically that the transgender politic around the social hierarchy of the sexes is so utterly flimsy that it can tolerate no critique whatsoever from women, and as a male-centric philosophy the realities of female experience CANNOT be tolerated., hosted by Automattic, has prevented me from posting this on the blog I have built up from the ground against all odds. And Gosh who cares about that? Who cares about Bindel and Greer and Jeffreys and Brennan and Moore and Benvenuto and Burchill? We still have our little corners where they can’t silence us. Keep voices hushed. Avert your eyes, sisters. Let’s spectate.

IF YOU GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ANY OF THIS – and I know many of you DO, I encourage you to RAISE A HOLY FUCKING SHITSTORM about the silencing of feminists who critique GENDER and PLASTIC SURGERY and MUTILATION and RAPE and FREEDOM FROM THE PEEN and ETC ETC ETC.

I mean this literally: SPEAK NOW or FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE.

Have a blog? UPDATE IT TODAY with a focus on FREEDOM OF SPEECH for women. COMPLAIN about death threats on women- and NOT to your “friends” on Facebook. COMPLAIN about CENSORSHIP of women. Call the fucking news agency. Call ten fucking friends to meet on Tuesday night to set out a goal-oriented political action plan to support freedom of speech for women. ASSERT the right for women to DISCUSS POLITICS even if those public figures are “TRANS GENDER”. Make that lame fucking account so you can leave that comment on that awful news story. Take action every single fucking day. But ESPECIALLY TODAY. It’s time to say NO to the censoring of women- even if they are more (or less!) plain-spoken than you would like.

You liked GenderTrender, you counted on me- well I have been ELIMINATED. Fucking GAGGED because people were listening.

GENDERTRENDER will be back. Women cannot be silenced, no matter how hard they try. AND THEY WILL TRY.

Do you know why Julie Burchill’s article made so many men angry? (And so many handmaids?) I do.
It made them angry because it spoke the truth. They are ‘dicks in chick’s clothing.’ They do have bad wigs. And NO ONE is blind enough to think that these creeps are women.
Menz don’t like it when they are told they can’t be ANYTHING THEY WANT TO BE. When they can’t have ANYTHING THEY WANT TO HAVE. And they REALLY don’t like it when those stupid, ugly women have the nerve to tell them so.
Speak the truth to power and you will be CENSORED.

“It’s time to say NO to the censoring of women- even if they are more (or less!) plain-spoken than you would like.”
It’s all good except that this reader thinks that clogging up plain speech with woman-hating f-words does nothing but undercut the strength of genuine plain speech. And I am quite familiar with the use of censorship, accusations of censorship by censors, and “editorial judgment” to silence women (see #525 at website below).

I have commented all over the place about all this furor by Suzanne and Julie. But it looks as though any debate ot other opinion is clsed down. Legal abs misogynist threats abpund fr the minority trans who seemed to have obtained rights as men they already had and through their aggressive stance of violating womons tigjt to freedom of speech. Vert scary. I have not seen any FB rad fem page mention any of this whete I have mentioned it I have had no response!!!!! Scary times!

This saturday Guardian has deborah orr coming firmly down on the side of tansboyz . She has no analysis if anything and makes wild claims that if your brain tells you something then it must be true!!!! That is enough to make you a womon, if your brain wills it, fuck the biology!!! These bloody womon talk BS all to kerp good with the boyz who they fear! Apparently she was iffended by menz being called covks in frocks!!!! She mentions nothing of the transnazi attacks on womon who object to their sex being usurped and contends that ‘slutwalk allowed transboyz to join tbe tbrong’ which says it all really! Debs obviously hates Rad-fems and is willing to jump ship to prove it!!!!

You gals love your rage, don’t you? It’s clearly a badge of honour for radfems – ‘Ooh, I’m so angry that I’ll swallow the absurd statistics which, if they were true, would justify my anger! One in four women… patriarchal hegemony… gender pay gap… glass ceiling… glass escalator… glass cliff… bla, blah, blah…’ Have you ever thought of seeking therapy, rather than assaulting almost every pillar of a civilised society? Just a thought.

The ‘feminist critique on gender’ – like the ‘feminist critique’ on, well, everything – is truly absurd, and more evidently so with every year that passes. My recommended reading list on gender includes the following from four eminent psychology professors:

Louann Brizendine ‘The Female Brain’ and ‘The Male Brain’
    Susan Pinker ‘Thre Sexual Paradox’
Steven Pinker (Susan’s brother, who’s done awfully well for himself) ‘The Blank Slate’
    Simon Baron-Cohen ‘The Esential Difference’

We’re looking forward to estalishing a political party shortly whiich will expose militant feminist misandry, conspiracy theories, fantasies, lies, delusions and myths. Those are your weakness, and it’s why you seek to stifle free speech. But you’re failing. Take a look at ‘A Voice for Men’ if you have some time free, and see the future.

Our party will be arguing from a position of compassion for all citizens, and arguing for legislation and policies based uipon independent research and evidence bases, not the misandrous claptrap you employ. Those will be our strengths.

    Have a nice day.

  22. ScribbleHats January 25, 2013 at 3:25 am #

For a while now I have been a reader of Gendertrender, Femonade, Cherryblossom, Bevjo, Smash, Bugbrennan and more. Every time I read what many male trans say or comment with, I am left feeling sick or very angry. In light of this, I just wanted to finally say a few personal opinions I have on the trans subject.

Penis = male. No if and or but. When someone is born, the doctors look to see if there is a penis or a vulva (please forgive me if I am using this incorrectly) to declare if the child is male or female. No doctor has ever taken a newborn child and said “Well lets go test this child’s brain to see if it is a girl or boy”. If this does not compute when put against made up science then take these comedic quips instead, done in the styling’s of Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall.

If you need a major regimen of pills or massive reconstruction surgery to try and make the world call you female, you might be a man.

I went to the doctors yesterday for a check up. After pulling down my pants the doctor looked at my penis then up at me and asked if I identified as a male. Said to him “Nope, I’m a woman, just holding this thing for a friend. Here’s your sign”.

That now aside, I want to clarify that I am white and male (born male) and I hope that Gendertrender can continue. I also hope that none of the many radical feminist here are stopped from blogging. It took a lot of reading and holding back on knee jerk reactions (I may have looked like I was having seizures at a few points) to reach the point I am at now. It took a lot of reading for me to go from “I’m a man and I don’t do that so you are wrong” to “You know, I can do something about that”. It is all thanks to everything all of you post. All of you keep bringing forward major issues that get covered up or glossed over and all of you articulate amazingly well why you stand where you do on all these issues. I may not agree with every thing said on these blogs but because of all of you, I understand and can see why all of you have the stance you do. I think anyone no matter their opinion, can come away smarter just by taking the time to read what is posted here.

I am sorry for this long post and how messy it is but just wanted to say thank you to all the radical feminist bloggers on here for facing the hate and still speaking out loud and clear. I have learned a ton by reading here and I know it would be the same for anyone else who does.

I do find it alarming how ignorant people like you are. People who like to see the world in Black or White, or in this case Male and Female.

Sex determination is a *very* complex subject. It’s not a binary state at all (it’s really interesting why this angers radfems and they just can’t deal with it).

Lets take a simple and rather clear example. At a chromosomal level (genotype) XX is female and XY is male. However for that to be expressed as a phenotype during development cells have to respond to the androgens created during development. If the cells do not the individual will develop to some degree as a female – sometimes completely. In fact many of these individuals are born with complete female genitalia, are raised female, and only discover that they are genetically male when they seek treatment for infertility. There’s a rather wonderful photograph in the wikipedia article on Androgen insensitivity syndrome of a large group of women who are genetically male. In effect ‘natural’ transsexuals (

If you dig a little deeper you’ll find that there is at least three mechanisms in humans for determining what sex you are, and whether you have a penis or not is pretty crude shorthand for what your ‘sex’ is. Of course in the majority of cases all three line up and having a penis is good shortcut for it (hence the birth thing), but some degree of intersex at birth is surprisingly common and probably about one person in a thousand has surgery at birth to ‘normalize’ genital appearance. One statistic I’ve seen says the incidence of some degree of an intersex state probably comes out at about 1 in 200.

Count that as the tip of the iceberg then.

The fact is that what sex you are isn’t just a binary Male or Female state but a set of ranges, of which just one is covered by Penis/Vagina. People who don’t fit into Male/Female camp should be treated with understanding and compassion not outright hatred you so often see among radical feminists. In fact the intolerance and inability to emphasise with human beings who don’t fit into their philosophy convince me that radical feminism (unlike the liberal type) is inherently totalitarian and, well, evil.

      • GallusMag January 26, 2013 at 1:09 pm #

Katie you are a man. 100% adult male.

      • Katie January 27, 2013 at 1:12 pm #

So I take it from your Ad Hominem reply you’re 100% incapable of refuting the argument?

      • Katie January 28, 2013 at 12:48 pm #

There’s not a single argument in that article beyond jumping up and down and saying ‘it isn’t so’. Even you statistic on development abnormality is out by a factor of over 1000.

      • ScribbleHats January 29, 2013 at 5:05 am #

Katie your argument in this case seems invalid. There is a massive difference between someone born with an abnormality and someone who chooses to have something changed. In your androgen case, the person raised as a female and goes through life as a female till they find out differently due to a genetic test. That is way different then a person who grows up male, as male as male gets including genetically and then chooses to take pills or have an operation in a vain attempt to become female.

People who have an abnormality at birth defiantly should not be looked down on and also should have all the resources they need there to assist. Those who are androgen of course already do have a medical classification and resources available. What is majorly wrong is the fact that those who are born male genetically and have male genitalia, seem to think that they are the same as those born with the androgen classification. Once again, there is a huge damn difference between those who are born genetically with a XY but have a vulva and those born with a XY but have a penis. There is a huge difference in being raised female and thinking you are female until a genetic test tells you that you are male and being raised male, knowing you are male but wanting to be female. In the end that is what it comes down to. It is not your brain saying you are female, it is just you wanting to be female.

I find the whole brain gender argument to be bullshit because there is another group that says the same thing. The community of people who honestly believe they are animals and want to be recognized as being an animal, not human. Many of them use the same type of arguments the MtoF trans community uses and in both cases it is a load of crap. If your brain is what decides if you are female or male, then it must be true that someone is really a tiger instead of a human.

MtoF are just a group of men who are taking pills for estrogen or are a group of men who choose to have their male genitalia changed in an operation. None of them are androgen because none of them were born with a vulva. Those that were are of course androgen and not MtoF trans.

What a loser, “I’ve been gagged, GAGGED, I tell you! By Janet Mock, a POWERFUL man!!”

You have to be a complete dope to believe a black man turned woman, in this day and age, is *powerful* in comparison to white hags hacking away their hate on a keyboard like you. More like people saw beyond your shit and decided to take a stand.

Censored? ELIMINATED? lol I think not.

Could someone please explain to me how Gallus Mag was censored (much less, eliminated)? More than one site re-posted the breathless ALL-CAPS-filled screed above. On one lesbian blog, a couple of women raced to the barricades and solicited help and money to get Gallus Mag her own site. Then silence.

What ever happened to feminist transparency? How about she follow up with a modicum of information, perhaps telling us what if anything anyone at WordPress actually communicated to her. That is, aside from what looked like standard boilerplate along the lines of “we have a question about your content. Please contact us.” This after she said that she had received 25000 hits in just a few hours. Did she contact WordPress? What specifically did they say they were concerned about?

She’s obviously up and blogging again on WordPress. You know, just because someone gets their feeling hurt and complains about you and TRIES to get you shut down – that is not the same as censorship. We look silly when we don’t distinguish between the two.

P.S., Twiss Butler, you’re okay in my book! So sad, isn’t it that “go fuck yourself” is considered legit discourse these days when an opinion varies even a bit from someone else’s?
